- Lights out! -- Just after the the 1 year limited warranty on my Garmin expired, the back light stops working. not a big deal, it's not like I often run/ride in pitch darkness. Too early to quit on the 405.
- Stinky wrist -- upgrading to the soft velcro wrist band has it's advantages. super snug fit. none of this in between wrist strap holes...disadvantage - the fabric strap retained stink like no other. woo-boy. this meant i couldn't wear it just kicking it. The 405 didn't want to be seen w/ me in public. This is not a good sign.
- Power save -- the 405 picked the most inopportune to time malfunction. It didn't go into power save and somehow managed to eat battery more than in the actual sport mode (without the timer started!). 24 miles in, the watch died. sucks. The watch wasn't there for me when I needed it the most.
Today, the watch died on me again. 50% battery when i left my building, but somehow 3 miles in, it was all out of juice. That was the final straw. I'm buying a 310 and am throwing the 405 in the garbage. Maybe I can play the old "if you buy me this I won't ask for anything for my birthday" card at the wifey. Maybe.
what the garmin managed to capture - 30/30
