The above sign was held throughout the 2010 San Diego Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Course by THE O.G. HamHocks! I saw her twice, but I'm sure she mile hopped to more locations throughout the day. I've been told spectating a marathon is as exhausting as running one. A BOLD (and italicized) statement, but having run six and seeing my friends and family afterwards, I believe it.
What's a HamHock, you ask? "I dunno" or *shrugged shoulders* are both acceptable answers. I had the same question. My friend uses it a lot in her status updates related to running i.e. "hamhocks about to trot a sexy 7..." At first I thought it was slang for her running friends/gangsters. She's from Mira Mesa, so I imagine there's tons of slang I've never heard of originating from there.
Now if you were to wiki / google it, you'd see a hamhock is a cut of pork or something like that. But with signs like the one above and status updates like 'C'mon hommies, get out & play and work your <3s...XoXo's'...I define HamHock as an awesome and inspirational runner.
