My too hot to handle too cold to hold moment
With a brief 8 hour window between Zoey's kids' race and Jg's Half marathon at Disneyland (see below!) for us to drive back to San Diego for my newphew's 1st birthday, I had just enough time to get my long run in. But it was hot, like too hot. Weighing my options I felt I would have a more successful training run if I didn't die in the middle. zone 4s are hard enough, zone 4s in 90 degree heat.... no thanks. With that said, I took to my treadmill and pounded out my 90 minute run whilst watching I Love You, Man. Double win!
My so proud of my girls moment
Zoey in the 1-3 yr old 100m Dash! Zoey had no idea she was running, as you can see in the vid below it turned out to be much more of a workout for me trying to get Zoey back on track. It was Zoey's first race, she got a medal and everything. I loved it.
Jg, Joy, Erwin, Carolyn & Mark in the Disneyland Half Marathon. All of them did so awesome, Jg smashing her previous PR while making it look easy and everyone else looking amazing in their first half marathons. Also in his first half marathon debut, Gavin (not pictured) ran 1:43. wow! kid is fast. Looking forward to training/racing him in the future.
It's rare that I get to spectate and I enjoy it, but let me tell you...it's stressful! found myself pushing Zoey in the middle of the course at one point being engulfed by Mickey-Eared runners/walkers. Oops, my bad.
A lot of work, friends and food in between, but my head feels mushy right now. =(
